Pilgrim is known for its quality local produce on the water. Our picnics bring that same care onto the island — fresh, well-prepared, and designed to be shared.
Available every day, Pilgrim’s picnics give you two easy ways to enjoy them. You can take your picnic with you as you explore Magnetic Island and choose your own spot to settle in — or, if you’d like to go further afield, we can arrange transport by our small, fast boat to a quieter, more remote beach.
From familiar bays and shaded headlands to stretches of coastline only reached by water, the island becomes your dining room.

For a more exclusive experience, enjoy our signature gourmet picnic on one of the island’s secluded beaches.
Travel by small, fast boat to a quiet stretch of sand, where everything is set up for you to relax — often with the beach entirely to yourselves.

Pilgrim Picnics, Simply Explained
Everything you need to know to plan a picnic with Pilgrim.
Our picnics are designed to be easy to order, simple to enjoy, and flexible enough to suit your day. Whether you’re picking one up to explore the island or arranging a fully set-up picnic on a remote beach, the essentials are taken care of.

Picnics must be ordered by 5:00pm the night before.
You can choose to:
Collect your picnic from Peppers Blue on Blue at 9:45am, or
Have it delivered to Nelly Bay for easy pickup.
If you have a different timing or location in mind, ad hoc requests may be accommodated where possible — just let us know when booking.

All picnics can be adjusted to suit dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, nut-free, dairy-free and seafood allergies.
Please advise any dietary needs at the time of booking so we can prepare your picnic with care.

For picnics enjoyed on the island, optional hire items are available, including picnic rugs, low picnic chairs, beach umbrellas, cooler bags with ice packs, wine bottle chillers and insulated picnic glasses.
The Gourmet Picnic on a Remote Beach includes everything — setup, shade, beverages and transport — so no extras are required. We recommend bringing sunscreen, hats, swimmers and water if you’re planning to swim or stay a little longer.

Pilgrim’s picnics are prepared using quality local produce wherever possible, with food made in-house and served in reusable bamboo boxes that we collect after use. We can prepare in disposable boxes, if you prefer.
Food waste is recycled through BioRegen, and Pilgrim Magnetic Island is EarthCheck Eco Certified, independently audited for sustainability practices.
Meet Sandy
Sandy is our small, fast boat used to transfer guests to the quieter beaches around Magnetic Island. For our Gourmet Picnic on a Remote Beach, your skipper acts as a chauffeur — delivering you to a secluded spot, setting up the picnic on arrival, and returning later to pack everything down and bring you back.
It’s an easy, hands-off way to enjoy a beautiful picnic somewhere more tucked away, with everything taken care of.
