A Glimpse of Your Sunset Charter
What to Expect
Your Private Sunset Charter begins at the marina in Nelly Bay, Magnetic Island. One of our friendly crew will meet you on the Peppers Blue on Blue deck and show you to Pilgrim — our beautiful 58-foot sailing yacht.
Once everyone’s aboard, we’ll run through a short safety briefing before we cast off. Then it’s sails up and engines off as we head out into Cleveland Bay. Depending on the breeze, your skipper (Paul or Clayton) will choose the smoothest and most scenic route for the conditions, always lining up the boat for the best views of the sun setting over Magnetic Island.
After the sun has dipped behind the horizon, we’ll drop the sails and cruise back into Nelly Bay just in time for dinner plans.
Once a month, the Private Sunset Charter coincides with the full moon. These run for around 30 minutes longer and return after dark, with the moon rising on the sail home. See below for exact dates.
Wine, Cheese & Local Flavours
As we sail, you’ll enjoy a selection of Tamburlaine Organic Wines — Sparkling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Rosé and Moscato (please note, we don’t serve red wine).
Not into wine? No worries. We’ve also got local beers from the Townsville Brewery and Maggie Island Brewery, soft drinks, and non-alcoholic wine or gin cockatils.
All drinks are included, and they’re unlimited.
Alongside your drinks, we serve a delicious grazing platter of local cheeses, fresh seasonal fruit, and accompaniments including our delicious homemade pumpkin chutney — it’s a guest favourite.

You'll be met on the Peppers Deck by one of our crew. Times vary throughout the year.
The crew will show you to the boat and make sure you're comfortable on board before departing the marina.
Once the sails are up you'll be served a selection of local wines, beers and soft drinks, followed by a local cheese platter.
Relax as we sail along and enjoy the sun setting on another day in paradise.

Cruise times vary throughout the year to align with sunset. The cruise will start between 4.30 pm and 5.45 pm, depending on the time of year.
Please refer to the booking calendar for the specific schedule. Guests are requested to arrive 15 minutes before the cruise begins.

Once a month our cruise is extended for 30 minutes to allow us to watch the full moon rising over the water. Here are the dates for 2026-27:

There is no minimum number of guests on our Private Sunset Charters, just a minimum charge which equates to 10 guests. Prices are as follows:
$139 per person
All prices include the environmental management charge of $4.00 per person
For larger group bookings (16 guests or more), please contact us directly to arrange. A 10% discount is applicable on larger bookings.
For smaller bookings, we recommend our shared Sip & Sail Sunset Cruises.

If you are travelling from Townsville, our charter times are aligned to the SeaLink ferry timetable and we can package in the ferry tickets to make the transfer from Townsville seamless.
Add the ferry tickets as an extra when booking and we’ll email you the tickets the day before your event.

Magnetic Island: Peppers Blue on Blue Resort, Nelly Bay - on the deck outside the Boardwalk Restaurant.
Ex-Townsville: Please catch the Sealink ferry from the Breakwater Terminal and then head to the meeting point at Peppers Blue on Blue Resort. Your ferry tickets will be emailed to you a few hours before the cruise.

In the Restaurant – a two-course meal in the Boardwalk Restaurant with main, side to share and a dessert and a complimentary beverage on arrival. $75 per person
Private Poolside Dining – enjoy a two-course meal around the pool at Peppers with your own personal waiter. Starts from $85 per person.
