What to Expect

Your sunset adventure begins at Magnetic Island Marina in Nelly Bay. After a warm welcome from our friendly crew, we’ll cast off, hoist the sails, and let the sea set the tone.

As we sail through the calm waters of Cleveland Bay, you’ll soak in panoramic views of Magnetic Island’s rugged coastline. Keep your camera ready—the sunsets here don’t hold back.

Our experienced skippers choose the smoothest course to maximise comfort and photo-worthy moments. Stretch out on a beanbag, clink glasses with someone you love, and let the island breeze do the rest.

Once a month, Sip & Sail coincides with the full moon. These run for around 30 minutes longer and return after dark, with the moon rising on the sail home. See below for exact dates.

Wine, Cheese & Local Flavours

While you sail, enjoy unlimited drinks from our handpicked selection of premium Australian organic wines, including Sparkling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Rosé, and Moscato. If wine’s not your thing, we’ve got you covered with premium beer from the Townsville or Maggie Island Brewery, soft drinks, and non-alcoholic options.

To complement your drinks, we’ll serve a locally sourced cheese platter, featuring a variety of cheeses and delicious accompaniments—don’t miss Clare’s signature homemade pumpkin chutney!

  • Times vary throughout the year:

    • You'll be met on the Peppers Deck by one of our crew.

    • The crew will show you to the boat and make sure you're comfortable on board before departing the marina.

    • Once the sails are up you'll be served a selection of local wines, beers and soft drinks, followed by a local cheese platter.

    • Relax as we sail along and enjoy the sun setting on another day in paradise.

  • Once a month our cruise is extended for 30 minutes to allow us to watch the full moon rising over the water. Here are the dates for 2026-27:

  • Cruise times vary throughout the year to align with sunset. The cruise will start between 4.30 pm and 5.45 pm, depending on the time of year.  

    Please refer to the booking calendar for the specific schedule. Guests are requested to arrive 15 minutes before the cruise begins.

    • From $129 per person

    • There is a $10pp supplement on Fridays, Saturdays, Public Holidays, Full Moons and peak season. See calendar for price for each day.

    • Prices include the environmental management charge of $4 per person.

    • Minimum 4 guests | Maximum 12 guests (mixed groups)

    • For larger group bookings (8 guests or more), we recommend our Private Sunset Charter option.

    • If you are travelling from Townsville, our cruise times are aligned to the SeaLink ferry timetable and we can package in the ferry tickets to make the transfer from Townsville seamless.

    • Add the ferry tickets as an extra when booking and we’ll email you the tickets the day before your event.

    • Magnetic Island: Peppers Blue on Blue Resort, Nelly Bay - on the deck outside the Boardwalk Restaurant.

    • Ex-Townsville: Please catch the Sealink ferry from the Breakwater Terminal and then head to the meeting point at Peppers Blue on Blue Resort. Your ferry tickets will be emailed to you a few hours before the cruise.

    After your cruise, we’ll organise a seamless dining experience so you can go straight from the boat to dinner at the Peppers Blue on Blue restaurant for a two-course meal in the Boardwalk Restaurant with main, side to share and a dessert and a complimentary beverage on arrival. $75 per person
